How we prepared for GDPR

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has set a new standard for how companies use and protect EU citizens’ data. It will take effect from 25 May 2018.

At Bizversity, we’ve been working to prepare for GDPR, to ensure we fulfil its obligations and maintain our transparency about how we use data.

Here’s an overview of GDPR, and how we are preparing for it at Bizversity:

What’s GDPR?

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) is a new comprehensive data protection law that comes into effect on May 25, 2018. It will replace existing EU Data Protection law to strengthen the protection of personal data and the rights of the individual. It will be a single set of rules, which govern the processing and monitoring of EU data.

How is Bizversity preparing for GDPR?

We have been working across our teams to ensure all our processes and data management are meeting our legal obligations, while still enabling us to maintain our service levels and product development to meet our users needs.  In addition, we have been working with our lawyers and accountants to audit all that we are doing, liasing with our software partners to ensure they are compliant, and setting up DPA (Data Processing Agreements) with them were required.

Here are the product updates we’ve been working on to ensure we’re meeting GDPR obligations:

We’ve built new features:

Our team has built the necessary features that enable our users to easily and fully delete all data linked to an individual user.

We have secured Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with our software partners:

Strong data protection commitments are a key part of GDPR’s requirements. We have ensured GDPR compliance with our software partners which outlines their privacy commitments and sets out the terms for them to meet GDPR requirements.  We have outlined this in detail in our new Privacy Policy.
Our software partners are:

Amazon Web Services

Crisp

Uscreen

Ontraport

Stripe

Read our new Privacy Policy - https://bizversity.com/privacy-policy/

We will be asking users to verify they are over 16 years of age:
